Michael Nikou

Michael trained at The William Esper Studio in New York under the tutelage of Terry Knickerbocker. After graduating drama school Michael returned to his home in Melbourne where he has appeared in various theatre, film and television productions including Nina Buxton’s acclaimed WOOF! and Kitty Flanagan’s FISK. Michael’s debut feature film SLANT which he wrote and produced stars AFI award winners and Aussie screen legends Sigrid Thornton and Pia Miranda. Slant premiered at Monster Fest in December 2022 winning Best Australian Feature before going on to be released in theatres across Australia in October 2023. It is now available to view across multiple platforms including SBS on Demand, Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video. Michael is currently working on developing his second feature film and will soon appear in Rebel Wilson’s directorial debut The Deb and Taika Waititi’s reimagining of Time Bandits.
